Pride of Place Mural 2012 – Newcastle
Brief
A local council artwork from `young seeds good deeds’ foundation for young Australians grant was fading, with some graffiti damage, so a new work was commissioned.
Project Information
The artwork created by Brendon Ussher for the retaining wall, next to Centrelink on King Street, was created uses a number of techniques such as brush, roller, aerosol and airbrush. Local council requested a design that was nature based, so Brendan created a garden featuring a lady beetle, grasshopper and frog. The artwork was then coated with an anti-graffiti coating to allow council to easily clean, should any damage occur.
